Valarie Lacefield

Originally from NY, Valarie moved to FL in 1993 after completing a MS in Speech Pathology. While Primarily working in the education field, she pursued creative endeavors on the side to maintain a long time love of creating, drawing and painting.  As a recent 'empty nester', she began taking her art more seriously devoting time to courses, consistent effort to practice, hone skills and find her voice. The creative journey is ongoing and Valarie is excited to see the way it continues to grow.

I am a Florida based artist. I love to mix aspects of realism with abstract using various paint mediums.  I delight in dramatic colors and taking inspiration from local life, nature, everyday objects and shapes. I continue to learn and explore new processes. Art is a form of therapy that helps me to see and capture the beauty that surrounds in new ways.
