Victoria Peterson

I began doing artwork after retiring and find great satisfaction in creating images from my own photography. I am always on the look-out for that next project. The detail I incorporate into my subjects requires many hours. The average piece takes about 200 hours to complete. I work every day and produce about one painting a month. Colored pencil is my medium of choice as it allows me control and provides me with long peaceful hours of creativity.

My goal is to create work which is beautiful up close and from a distance. Colored pencil is especially suited to the type of subjects I render. The translucence of the medium can be layered to add realistic effects and textures.
