My preferred oil paint palette tends to bright oranges and deep blues with occasional punctuations of yellow and violet and red and green. There is also beauty in the gauzy, subtle colors of ROY G. BIV, the acronym describing the sequence of hues that comprise a rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. On a palette, add a bit of titanium white, and pastel forms of these colors pop in a fizzy drink that intoxicates the mind and delights the eye. Here’s to ROY G. BIV and the possibilities of the rainbow, where every color matters, and one doesn't exist without the other.
